• Fluent in shop-talk English. • Good knowledge of current oil and gas terminology, used in geology of hydrocarbons, exploration, drilling and well testing; oil production, processing, transporting, refining and environmental control, as well as project design and development, contract drawing and delivery. • A sizable record of field translations at various production operations, including construction of production facilities (e.g. process installations, pump-stations, tank farms, pipelines, etc.), installation of process equipment, the hook-up work and project commissioning, as well as exploration drilling, well testing, oil and waste water treatment and other oil-patch projects. • Well up on drilling equipment, tools, drilling supplies and procurement procedures. • Competence in shop talk regarding processing equipment, power and ancillary plants, valves and controls, safety functions and instrumentation . • Familiar with lab testing and assaying procedures, including terminology. • Competent in flow sheets, drawings, supply schematics, charts, etc. • Competent in appropriate terminology of safety regulations, HSE&S requirements and emergency response procedures. • Experience in technical negotiations as well as business paperwork flow and correspondence. • Quick with keyboard. Efficient in data and word processing applications used in business reporting and management (e.g. MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Also competent in other means of data handling (e.g. mailing, web-searching, data acquisition and information supply). • Keeping up to date on global oil and gas technologies, good field practices and equipment in oil and gas drilling, well completion, HC production and field construction. • Fit, hard-bitten and sportive. • Taken to field and site work.
